Magna International has generously provided support to students enrolled full-time in Conestoga College’s School of Trades and Apprenticeship and School of Engineering & Technology through the establishment of the Magna Scholarships. These scholarships willsupport students in pursuing a career in the skilled trades.
Selected post-secondary students will receive a one-time $2,500 scholarship:
- A total of ten scholarships will be available. Each scholarship will be distributed in two installments within an academic year.
- $1,000 initial award
- $1,500 after completion of academic year and volunteer commitments
Eligibility Criteria:
The award is available to all full-time students (domestic and international) in the programs listed below.
Eligibility Programs:
Students enrolled in year 1 or year 2 of the following Ontario College Diploma or Ontario College Certificate skilled trades program:
- Electrical Technician - Industrial
- Electro-Mechanical and Automation Maintenance
- Mechanical Technician - Tool and Die/Tool Maker
- Mechanical Techniques - Industrial Millwright
- Mechanical Techniques - Precision Machining and Tooling
- Manufacturing Engineering Technology - Welding and Robotics
Applicants must:
- be enrolled in an eligible skilled trade program of study and registered as a full-time student.
- have achieved a minimum overall average of 70 % (based on Conestoga’s admissions process for year 1 students or previous semester’s GPA for year 2 students).
- maintain the minimum average for their program of study and remain in good standing.
- demonstrate a willingness to provide mentorship to current and prospective students at the College and commit to participating in co-curricular events.
